Meet Iain Armitage. He is the son of producer Lee Armitage and singer/actor Euan Morton, best known for his role as Boy George in the musical, Taboo. A very talented guy, Euan is especially beloved in our house for singing our favorite version of our favorite song, Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah. When I played it in our house while writing this post, as usual, we both cried a little, then sang along very badly, then laughed at ourselves a bit.

Iain and his lovely mom, Lee, go to a lot of Broadway shows. He gets to see all the greats (and meet some of them!), presumably thanks to his talented and well-known parents. And he (adorably, but very seriously) reviews them all. The shows, not his parents. Understandably, Himself wanted to see Neil Patrick Harris in Hedwig (who doesn’t?). Imagine how put out he was when he was told it wasn’t age-appropriate. (Did I mention Iain is six?)  Actually, you don’t have to imagine his outrage. Here it is, in living color. It’s very fortunate this precocious young man isn’t my child. I don’t think I’d be able to stand firm in the face of such precious resolve and such solid arguments. Hang tough, Lee!
