Ben and Siobháin by Dale Weeks Photography
Not feeling Wordless on Wednesday.
My friends got married. Well, really, they’re my friends’ daughter and son-in-law. Okay, technically, they’re my friend’s friends’ daughter and son-in-law, but we all got to hang out for a few hours earlier this year, and I fell hopelessly in love with the whole lot of them.
Anyway,Siobháin and Ben, let’s call them The Adorables, got engaged not long ago, then decided to get married quickly and simply because all they wanted was a relaxed wedding that they’d get to enjoy. I’m not going to lie. I was hoping for an invite. No. I was angling for an invite. I even did a bunch of alternative wedding dress research and bombarded the poor bride with unsolicited suggestions in the hopes that an invite would be winging its way to me from across the Atlantic. However, it’s possible that they didn’t realize I had adopted them as my new family, because these relative strangers for whom I feel great-if-weirdly-inappropriate affection went and did it without me. Bygones.
So this teensy, perfect wedding (to which I was not invited) MADE IT INTO AN ONLINE WEDDING ZINE. That’s right. A wedding consisting of 14 people including Mr. & Mrs. Adorable and involving no one famous was so beautiful, so amazing, so unmissable (ahem), that Rock N Roll Bride covered the wedding. The article is short and sweet, and the photos by Alternative Wedding Photographer Dale Weeks are absolutely wonderful. (Rock N Roll Bride is a great site to browse. I actually lost a couple of very pleasant hours wandering around in there. Give it a look!)
We have been to many weddings over the years, and some of them felt good and some of them felt less good, but what it really comes down to is the dress. No, wait, that’s not what I was going to say. It really all comes down to how the couple feels about each other and how the assembled witnesses feel about the future of the couple. What makes this wedding such a beautiful thing (besides the fact that the Adorables are both stunners) is how these two wonderful people fit together. It’s why I fell for them in the first place, and it’s why I will forgive them for leaving off their guest list that lady they met that time at Jessie’s house.
Dearest Adorables,
May the blessings of each day
Be the blessings you need most.

Redundant as it may be I needed to tell you I like this post. Brightened my day a little. I’m with you on it being about the dress. 😉
