What if you spent every day looking for One Beautiful Thing?

Soulmates

Denali the dog with Ben KnightI’m sorry about this. Really I am.Unfortunately, my friend Kim posted this, and I watched it (twice), and I tried, but I can’t keep it to myself. Here’s what you do:

1. Get tissues.

2. If you’re like me, just take off the eyelashes. I promise they won’t be there by the end anyway. It’s better this way.

3. Make sure you don’t have to see anyone for a while. They will ask you what’s wrong. You won’t want to explain.

4. Watch the video.

5. Have a good cry. Then eat chocolate, preferably with a big glass of wine.

6. Forgive me. It was too special not to share. Nothing else was going to be this beautiful today (thank goodness).

Are you ready? Okay, go.

I have committed to spending part of every day looking for at least one beautiful thing, and sharing what I find with you lovelies!

  1. OHHH MY GOSH! That was such a beautiful tribute. Having just lost my 16 yr old dog in January it touched a nerve for sure.

  2. Oh, Donna. If you have a chance, read “The Art of Racing in the Rain.” Hold the eyelashes. Keep the chocolate and wine nearby. This was the most beautiful tribute….

  3. Good grief. My eyes are leaking just reading your instructions! I’m saving this for some alone time later on. 😉

  5. As I watched, the pup was at my feet, and the cat was next to me. They’re getting extra lovin’ today.

  6. Thank you…you big jerk…that was beautiful. Our two fur babies are 14 years old. They are Korean Jindos, brother and sister from a litter of 3 week old puppies that someone threw out on the side of the road. A Good Samaritan took the box to the shelter on base in Japan and we got our girl 3 weeks later. One year later, the owners of the brother gave him to us. There are mornings when Mika is sleeping so hard that she doesn’t move AT ALL, and Jasper pops and creaks for the first 5 minutes after he wakes up. They are my constant companions and after watching this video, I have some snuggling and nuzzling to do.

Thanks to Donna for this timely follow up to this morning’s dog post. It really grabbed hold of my dog loving soul… a beautifully moving tearjerker, sprinkled with the best kind of dog humor (from a dog’s point of view.)

  13. No tears here. I thought the wisdom was joyful. It’s what I want for me. I don’t have a pet.
