Professional porcelain painter, Judit Czinkné Poór, A.K.A. Mézesmanna, brings her love of Hungarian folk art to her highly-coveted cookies. Although she only started working with edibles in 2014, she’s already an acknowledged master cookie decorator.
She takes her traditional pattern inspiration from folk costumes, embroidery, and lace. In Hungary, particular patterns and colors are associated with specific regions, so each of her designs refer to a part of Hungary. I wasn’t able to find much about her in English, so I’ll just let her beautiful work speak for itself.

They’re amazing! I wonder if I would ever have the heart to eat something so beautiful, though. I’d probably save it until it gets moldy 🙂

I love these. My background is Hungarian and I know my family would LOVE these as a gift. I wish we could get some.

It may be possible if you message her on Facebook. She does seem to be doing them for birthday parties and weddings and the like. It’s worth a try!

The steadiness of her hands was the reason I’ve watched her videos 5+ times each. Those tiny, close stripes are so perfect! Truly a gift.

They really are. I just (re)watched the video with Beloved, and I said that every time she starts a new element of the design, I think “it doesn’t need that,” but each element adds just enough to the overall design. It’s incredible.
