What if you spent every day looking for One Beautiful Thing?

The Zen of Venn

venn 0Who doesn’t love Fridays?

Artist and graphic designer, Stephen Wildish, has turned Friday into an art form. The Friday Project aims to create something witty or pretty once a week. The graphic witticisms rely heavily on  Venn diagrams and flow charts. They’re great fun, and very, very English.

“I started the ‘Friday Project’ as a way to get those silly ideas out, the sort of thing I couldn’t possibly get past a client. Although ironically, currently it’s one of the main sources of work for me.” -Stephen Wildish to the Huffington Post

Prints of his delicious illustrations can be purchased here.

All images are the property of stephenwildish.co.uk.

And as much as I love his diagrams, his film alphabets are a really great way to waste some time, and great fun to share with friends! There are many, but here’s one of my faves.

  2. I’m so glad I viewed the jam one before I read your intro. I nearly lost it at the end.
    Stuck on some 80s movies: F (I’ll kick myself, I know it), Q, V, X Y.

    • I couldn’t get F either! I cheated and it’s Flight of the Navigator (which I don’t recall ever hearing of). Not even cheating turned up Q. I think V is Videodrome, X is a mystery, and I assume Z is Zelig, though characterizing it as sci fi is a bit of a stretch.

      • Flight of the Navigator, of course! I think X is Xanadu. Q is “Q” 1982, cheating reveals, but about as obscure as they come. V? Dunno. And still can’t figure Y. All I can think of is The Mighty Ducks.

  3. Q: “Its name is Quetzalcoatl, a dragon-like Aztec god.” And Q is the film title too, apparently. (and X is not X-files? Too late?)
