What if you spent every day looking for One Beautiful Thing?

A Beautiful Man

ericToday, I lost a friend and the world lost an unbelievable musician and spirit, singer/songwriter Eric Hansen.

I can’t bring myself to write about him yet. Maybe I never will. For now, here’s a short piece I did about one of his songs in 2014.

I’ll never forget you, Eric, my love.

I have committed to spending part of every day looking for at least one beautiful thing, and sharing what I find with you lovelies!

  7. Did he lay down the music track if you know? Good voice. Like the other millions, never heard of him.

    • I think you’re asking if his music is available anywhere, and the answer is yes. It can all be purchased on CD Baby: https://www.cdbaby.com/m/Artist/EricHansen

      • No, there is music on something (CD/DVD) that he sings with. Ignore his singing = which is very good. I was asking about the music that he sang with. Did he write and record that? Did a second party do it for him or did he do it? What did they use? The term ‘lay down’ is a old music term. You lay down the notes (write the music) and then play them on a keyboard or some other instrument. Being honest, it was clear to me at least that he was not playing an instrument while singing. The music seemed to be a short number of bars (another music term) and repeat it’s self. But trying to figure out what was used to create the music was of interest to me.

      • I see. Yes, he wrote and recorded his own guitar tracks. Back in the nineties when he was still in New York, he would accompany himself. But as he got sicker, he started recording his guitar and singing to the track. He was nonetheless 100% original (in his music and his life). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cOtaSv5MM0w
