Artist Anastasiya Khramtsova and her partner, sculptor Semen Belugin, make what they call practical art. Sold in their Etsy shops FreeInTree and FreeInTreeBirds, their hand-carved wooden jewelry, mini sculptures, and, most notably, hair accessories pack a big impact for a very fair price. And you can get them to make you a wearable portrait of your pet for under $100!

The hair forks and sticks even come with a handsome stand so you can display your artwork when you’re not wearing it. I’m seriously in love with these pieces. I’m absolutely buying myself the crane, but I feel like these might become something I want to collect!

  1. What beautiful hair pieces! Just wish I had enough hair to use them.

  2. They are beautiful and if I had enough hair to pin up with one I would be buying one.

  4. I have always loved birds (and own several as pets), but the hair clips tongs look like a speculum. I can’t un-see it now, and these objects remind me of how fun it is to get my cervix examined. 😛

  5. Finally, something good about having hair that looks like a bird’s nest!

  6. These are awesome. Well, the skull kind of creeps me out, but the animals are adorable. I love the fox. I have an abundance of hair, but it is slick. Not sure if it would hold (rather than let it slide…) one of these, but I’ll give it a try.
