Although I have posted previously about Pentatonix, I’ve never spent any time on founder and lead singer Scott Hoying. He’s been making music on his own and with various friends that caused me to sit up and take notice when it autoplayed on me over the weekend. His friends are fantastic, too. His collaborations with Kina Grannis, Mario Jose, Rozzi Crane, and Caitlin Notey are all absolutely wonderful. Wow, what talent!
Getting in touch with his inner Bobby McFerrin!
And here’s my absolute fave, the duet with Mario Jose that first caught my attention:

Wow. The last song was not lost on me! How hauntingly beautiful. It left me in tears.

Isn’t it lovely? I was going to send it to you for Rodge if you didn’t see it.

I finally found the time to circle back to this blog post and listen to the videos. I have listened to Pentatonix a few times as I rather like the pure vocal one gets from a capella music but I know nothing about the performers and had no idea this chap also performed solo. He has a really lovely voice when solo or combined with others. I liked the cover of A Team but it is that last track that had me immediately clicking to listen to it again. That is hauntingly beautiful. I have never heard of Mario Jose but his voice was wonderful on that track so I will need to check out other things by him.

I loved their two voices together. I’ve had that one on repeat all week!
