We are off for the next few days in honor of Beloved’s birthday, so here’s a little something kind of festive and fun and happy to get us going. I’m so glad to see that Rick Astley seems like such a good sport!

This makes me smile. I love that he celebrates being pretty much known for this one thing and is riding the wave of the whole Rick Rolled thing. So many people get snarky and bitter about being associated with one song or movie or era. It was also a fun performance with him and the choir.

It’s funny you should say that. I watched his face closely, trying to figure out what he was thinking. I wondered if he’d show signs of frustration, but all I saw was joy. Good for him!

I feel like I vaguely remember he went through a phase where he wanted out of the public eye, after his fame had ended. Maybe the whole 80s revival, nostalgia thing allowed him to view his brief career from a different perspective. I’m a half-arsed armchair psychologist.
