My 2019 Bucket List

If you must kick a bucket…

I have no plans to kick any buckets any time soon, but I thought a bucket list of things I’d like to do in 2019 was more attainable (and less unpleasant) than a list of resolutions. Yes, I’m still planning on working on all those resolution-type-things (lose weight, put away more money, exercise more, etc.). I’m just not setting myself up for disappointment by making them an official thing. So rather than a list of things I’m supposed to do, here is a list of things I want to do.

None of them are too serious. Sure, some of them may sound a bit like resolutions, but I’m pretty sure they’d each make me feel happier in one way or another, and that feeling is my reward.

  1. Cook more for my friends.
  2. Get the contractor to finish our inside projects so we can adopt that Maine Coon we’ve had our eye on for months.
  3. Give curry another chance.
  4. Firm up the retirement plan.
  5. Give more to charity.
  6. Brush up on my French.
  7. Get our home office (currently full of boxes and extra art) back in working order.
  8. Give more care to the actual writing of my posts.
  9. Learn to really sew.
  10. See more movies in the movie theater.
  11. Get my real estate license.
  12. Make some of the recipes I’ve saved from magazines.
  13. Find more costume opportunities with the besties.
  14. Make a dent in the shelf full of hardcover books waiting to be read.

What’s on your to do list for 2019?

  1. You have good projects here. Me?I need to figure out why I do what I do ( cardmaking and etc.) With postage going up I can’t afford to mail a card just to say Hi to someone who doesn’t say Hi back or even say Thank you. I’m sort of thinking of a Etsy shop for my 3D cards but some of the comments from others aren’t too good about working with Etsy???I really need to get back into watercolor but that takes new supplies and the garden ,which is drowning right now, will need work soon. I should repaint some of the house and spend more time with the grands. The list goes on and on.

  2. I love the idea of bucket list, rather than New Year’s Resolutions! I agree, resolutions seem for whatever reason never happen… Bucket list, are things that you do really want and with that, you will attain. My list would is: Get out of my comfort zone as much as possible. Take the trip I have been wanting. Write the book I have put down. Start my website that I have been working on for far too long!! Lastly to continue to live in each and every moment of my life, which I do, but it is always a good reminder! Happy New Year! Love the post!

  4. Love this list! Are you going to print it and tack it up in the newly organized office so you remember? I’m a person that needs to see it in print every day. Not that I actually HAVE a bucket list but you have now inspired me to think about it. Definitely will have “give curry another chance.’

  5. Happy New Year to you, Donna. A Bucket List sounds so much friendlier than a list of resolutions. Uh, #8…..I think you have achieved that one already. How you do what you do, every single day…**shakes head in amazement**

  7. That’s a great list, Donna. I hope you achieve each of the items. I adore curry and make one once a week and one of our cats is part Maine Coon so those items jumped out at me in particular. Thanks for a wonderful year of blog posts and for lifting my spirits with your blogging and your friendship. Best wishes to you and Beloved for 2019!
