Etsom·ni·a (/etˈsämnēə/), noun, 1. a sleep disorder caused by obsessive Etsy browsing. 2. The surprising arrival of weird handmade merchandise ordered when one is only half conscious. (True story.) 3. An excuse for me to be an obnoxious, snarky New Yorker once per week.
I don’t think today’s theme requires any explaining. Hope everyone is having a pleasant-as-possible holiday.

I couldn’t believe this either. We have 19 hognoses and 3 will arrive in the next month. Do you have the pattern for this?

I know the is a lot debate about this but I think ‘Easter’ and the “Resurrection’ should be two different celebrations.

I had not heard that. Interesting. Is that because of the pagan roots of Easter?

Well… there is debate about that too. but I just think too much is put on the ‘Rabbit and eggs and not enough on the reason for the season.

Since eggs have shot up in price and now cost more per weight than gold, I am not allowing my kids to decorate hard boiled eggs this year (our tradition being the British one of rolling the eggs down a hill until they smash) because eggs are just way too precious a commodity. I, therefore, ordered some wooden eggs and we are going to paint those. They will not, however, be as gorgeous as those colourful ones with the gilding on them.

I’m not sure why things have gone up in price. There should be way more out there since the food places have cut back and school is out. and they are throwing away veges in Fla. Something is not right here!!!

Apparently, it’s because of COVID panic buying. They drove up the demand, but the supply hasn’t increased.

Only the eggs have definitely and noticeably gone up in price. My grocery bill generally has shut up but that’s because I’m having to buy what’s available rather than choosing more affordable options and, of course, nowhere is offering deals or sales. I definitely don’t understand why the supply chain is what it is – my local store has not had bleach or cleaning products for four weeks now – but I’m hopeful things will recalibrate soon.

It’s the hoarders ruining it for everyone.

The wooden ones sound great! And you can repaint them every year.

We might keep this year’s as reminders of this very unusual Spring break. But, yes, redecorating would be a fun idea.

Those duck feet are special. I kind of want them! And yes, available in all sizes, YAY!

Aren’t they darling? I want them, too. For the cat.

I don’t know about tiny cat paw size, although from what I have read about your cat, duck feet would never happen with that one. You might just need to wear them your own self!

I did like one of them at least and maybe two. – This can be a very bad time of the year. Thanks to people like my granddaughter and her friends, they rescue cute real life rabbits that are given to kids that have no idea what or how to care for them. Hal

Live chicks, ducks and rabbits were all the thing when I was young (say, 40 years ago!) although my parents never allowed it. I thought that gifting trend had been eliminated!

It’s so shameful. Animals are not meant to be gifts.
