I have always prided myself on my gift wrapping design. In typical years, I have a theme that includes stylish papers and ribbons and bows and gift tags and embellishments. This year… not so much. It all just got away from me, so my 2020 gift theme is ‘what’s leftover from last year.’ Since we’re dialing it in this year, I thought it might be fun to check out some creative gift wrapping ideas. I also stumbled upon a couple of great HGTV videos on the perfect way to wrap a present.

    Oh how pretty. I used to do this and really get into it but ths year…brown paper packages wraped up with string is my favorite thing. People say oh how cute but then you see the results in the heap of paper going to the trash. Those not into crafting don’t understand.

      I know what you mean about it all getting discarded, but I always take pictures first. That way, I feel like I’ve accomplished something! I do worry about the amount of waste it creates, so we mostly focus on recycled papers.

        Spesking of waste…Being single food prep has been a problem.Hard to cook for one person and there is too much left over. So…I thought of trying on of the handful of food services avaiable. The food is goo and I can usually get two serving out of one but the packaging….once a week it come in a box…it can b broken down …but the is the cold package which turn out to be a jell in plactic ( 2 of them) and more insulation around the inside of the box. This turns out to be shredded blue jeans …in plastic. I going to try the jell in the garden to keep the ground wet and the jeans are maybe going to insulate the hunting house my son and grandson use. Still …there has to be a better way.

        So much waste! I’m surprised that things would be packaged that way these days. It’s great that you can reuse some of it.

    I am a horrible wrapper of presents. When I lived in Japan, I always let the store wrap the gifts for me–and they always did it using only one piece of tape (usually the store sticker. Fantastic.

    Lovely but no need as I don’t buy Xmas presents, or indeed birthday presents.
