Say what you will about Saturday Night Live. Maybe your politics line up with theirs, maybe they don’t. Maybe you find them funny (at least sometimes), maybe you don’t. The show turns 50 this year (and boy, does that make me feel old), so there are a number of events and specials coming up to honor the anniversary. I’m looking forward to all of them, but after watching this trailer for the upcoming documentary, Ladies & Gentlemen… 50 Years of SNL Music, I think this will be my favorite.
Co-directed by Oz Rodriguez and Questlove, the feature premiered last Monday on NBC. The trailer alone is absolutely mind-blowing. I want to make sure I give the documentary the attention it deserves, so I haven’t watched it yet. I cannot wait!
Peacock subscribers can watch the entire special here, and you can follow Saturday Night Live on YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.

Unfortunately I could not view the video. The message read “The uploader has not made this video available in your country.”

Fifty years….unbelievable! Then you think about all the characters Gilda Radner played and how physical all the comedy was–mind-blowing.

This post needs a LOVE button! I feel like I’ve been around SNL for more than 40 years, which is probably a negative note for my parents, lol.

How funny! My nana gave me her black and white portable television which I covertly installed in my closet specifically so I could watch SNL (and old movies) when I was supposed to be sleeping.
