Today’s beautiful thing is the Nigerian a cappella group Vocamonix. Their sound and their energy is giving me life this morning. The group does covers, but they definitely do lots to make the songs their own. Apparently, in their home country, a cappella is really unusual, and when they started out, it also wasn’t very popular. So the group turned to social media to see if they could get attention from listeners elsewhere in the world. Not only was that effort effective, they are now performing sold-out concerts in Nigeria as well.
You can follow Vocamonix on YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.

I love how music makes me feel when it’s obvious how much joy the performers get from it. Happiness is contagious!

They are great! The syncopation and harmonies are on point and I like that they’ve brought their own vibe to some of the tracks they cover. How cool that they have been able to popularize a genre of music in their home country and experience so much success in doing so.
