Today, we’re taking a look at the gorgeous high-fashion designs by Syrian designer Rami Al Ali. The designer first exploded on the fashion scene when he was invited to show at the world-renowned Alta Moda Alta Roma couture week in Italy. He says a huge part of his brand is about female empowerment and art. Al Ali was heavily involved in the beginnings of the women’s art movement in Syria, and spent much of his time and funds supporting and encouraging women in the country’s art scene.

I am particularly drawn to how sculptural his designs feel. But unlike some designers whose designs impede their models’ movement, Al Ali’s sculptural elements seem like they’re working with the women who wear them. He manages to blend traditional Arabic elements with truly modern western design sensibilities in a completely seamless and beautiful way. I find his gowns to be truly lovely.

You can follow Rami Al Ali on his website and on YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook.

The designs are stunning. I am impressed by how fluid the lines of his designs are and the way he turns fabric into liquid.
