What if you spent every day looking for One Beautiful Thing?

Man in a tuxedo who stood too close to the front of an elevator

The creator of Mad Libs, Roger Price, was an author and cartoonist whose 1950s cartoon series Droodles involved minimalist drawings with very clever humorous captions. The idea seems almost too simple, but the syndicated cartoon and eventual book made him famous. There was even a game show by the same name where contestants had to guess the caption of the drawing featuring Carl Reiner. One of Price’s drawings was even featured on the cover of Frank Zappa’s 1982 album Ship Arriving Too Late to Save a Drowning Witch.

These are so clever and witty! I enjoyed the punchline of each caption.
