I missed CBS’s extravaganza, “Sinatra 100: An All-Star Grammy Concert” last weekend. I mostly missed it because I didn’t realize it was going to be worth seeing. But then this video of Lady Gaga singing Sinatra turned up in my Facebook feed, and I was so blown away, I just had to share.
I’m really enjoying her recent flirtation with jazz, and this performance was so good, she even made me want to hear “New York, New York” again (no small feat). She absolutely kills it.

I was not a fan of hers when she first came out, because I thought the gimmicks she was using was overshadowing her singing. Now I realize, she is really, really good. She has blown me away also in her last few appearances, and now her talent is what shines.

I know that her initial image was way over the top, and it definitely wasn’t for everyone. I loved it for the pure, gorgeous spectacle of it. But now that she’s toned it down a bit, it’s really incredible to see what a great singer she is.

I agree with both of you; I loved her from the beginning, but I thought a lot of her stuff was just too over the top for me ( arriving in the egg). She has a beautiful voice and I’m glad to see her branching out into stuff beyond pop.

The egg was a bit odd, and the meat dress was just repulsive, but how great is this: https://www.youtube.com/embed/qrO4YZeyl0I

See, that video is just a little too weird for me. Although it does remind me a little of RHPS, which I absolutely love. I do like the song, though.

I think she’s going to surprise us many times over in the future – she’s like Madonna in a way – always seeking out a change, spin on things to keep it fresh and I like that underneath it all you can feel true passion and talent.

It’s funny you should say that. That’s exactly the conclusion I had reached as well!

Thank you for sharing, I had no idea it was on either. Hubby and I would’ve enjoyed it, I think.
Though I liked her music from the beginning, I wasn’t a fan only because of the really bizarre, outfits. I felt she was trying too hard. For some reason, that irks me. But lately she had really been branching out and showcasing get spectacular singing cops.

I didn’t watch all of it, but of the performances I’ve seen, hers was definitely the standout. So glad for her.
