Today’s phenomenally beautiful voice is thanks to me being distracted while listening to YouTube. I no longer remember what I was playing, but when it ended, I was doing something and forgot to choose my next thing. The auto-play of Ottowa-born singer/songwriter Jamie Fine’s song Bulletproof made me forget completely what I was supposed to be doing. Her voice is what first struck me. It’s velvety and emotional and very, very sweet. Then I started the song over and began listening to her lyrics, and I was struck all over again. Her songs speak of love and loss and survival, and they gave me (good) chills. Her music is definitely pop-style, but it’s so much deeper than that. I’m really loving it.
You can follow the amazing Jamie Fine on her website and on Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook.
