This week, I accidentally discovered a new rabbit hole (thank you, Tacky Raccoons / Nag on the Lake!), and down I went. There is a digital 3D artist known as Pwnisher who uses his Discord channel and YouTube channel to issue challenges to other artists. In his challenges, he offers up a deceptively simple creative project, then showcases the best responses. For example, in February of 2024, he posted a simple 3D animation and challenged people to interpret it however they wanted. The resulting top 100 artist montage is 8 minutes and 52 seconds of pure fascination. I was truly blown away by the brilliant ideas people came up with. His challenges are intended to motivate and inspire 3D artists to keep creating cool stuff, and this last challenge certainly met that mark!
Pwnisher, A.K.A. Clinton Jones, also uses guest judges to ensure that the judging is fair. I think it shows such a generous spirit when artists give other makers the opportunity to compete and get noticed.
You can follow Pwnisher on YouTube and Instagram, and you can join his challenges on Discord.
