Moldova-born Paris-based painter Sergiu Ciochină has been fiercely dedicated to art since a very young age. He says that from the time that he could hold a brush, he was always creating. His stylized paintings manage to communicate both peace and energy. What talent!
I’m especially in love with the use of saturated color and lush texture on his landscapes. Looking at his art, I can easily imagine myself sitting on a bench in dappled sunlight, taking in the scenery he paints.
“Shadow and light are the most stable and perfect tools of creation: they bring together colors, shapes, and dimensions. Shadows move us through diversity, enhancing our perception, while light fills us with the joy of discovery.”

The artist really does do an incredible job of capturing and conveying the sense of light and shadow. I love their use of yellow and purple to create that contrast. The texture of the paintings is lovely too.

I completely understand. I have to walk around museums reminding myself not to touch…
