Today’s beautiful thing is perfect for the upcoming Father’s Day, but that’s purely by chance. The a cappella group known as Dad Harmony came across my desk on a particularly stressful day earlier this week. They were just what I needed. I listened to their version of I Can’t Help Falling In Love over and over again, and I could feel my shoulders relaxing. They did good things for my stress level, so now I’m sharing them with you in the hopes that they’re a comfort to you, too.
Dad Harmony is comprised of five young fathers from northern Sweden. The thirty-somethings are absolute masters at blending their voices. I don’t know who does their arrangements, but they’re just beautiful. The group formed purely by accident. They were together at one of the singer’s bachelor parties and they were singing and harmonizing as had been their habit. But the future groom’s brother recorded the spontaneous jam session and put it on TikTok (“with his seven followers”). The video went viral, and it has been viewed more than 20 million times.
You can follow the talented Dad Harmony gents on their website and on YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.
Wishing all the papas a lovely Fathers’ Day!

Their harmonies are very good and seem very organic, possibly because they convey such a mood of relaxed effortlessness. They are like a Barber Shop Quartet if Barber Shop Quartets had any chill.

That made me hoot! I feel like the phrase “if barber shop quartets had any chill” is going to stick with me. You’re fantastic.
