I recently learned about an animal protection organization in Greece who are looking for volunteers, and I may now, at long last, know what I want to do when I grow up. In exchange for donating at least a month of your time to help care for their 60+ rescue cats, YOU GET TO LIVE IN A GREEK BED & BREAKFAST FOR FREE. It’s not a scam or a gimmick. You donate a minimum of five hours a day, five days per week for at least a month, and you get to live on a tiny Greek island for free. And take care of cats. Can you imagine anything better? I can’t. In fact, when the current political climate gets too intense for me, I will be closing my eyes and imagining I’m on Syros Island surrounded by felines.

“If you have training or experience as a veterinary nurse, or feral cat experience, you’d be particularly welcome, but we’re happy to take any cat lovers, so long as you are prepared to get your hands dirty, be reliable, self-sufficient and can turn up on time.”
