Please forgive the Monday morning repost. I had a frantic weekend of work and just could not get my s**t together to write something coherent. I will do better tomorrow.
9/18/14: I have never seen anything like this. Korean painter (and, according to the internet, comic artist) Seok Jeong Hyeon (aka “Stone House“) draws an entire life’s worth of portraits in four minutes. And he does it all beautifully. It’s fascinating watching each portrait take shape from the bones of the last, though I think he rushed by middle age a little too quickly (a little too close to home, that).
“Spring passes and one remembers one’s innocence.
Summer passes and one remembers one’s exuberance.
Autumn passes and one remembers one’s reverence.
Winter passes and one remembers one’s perseverance.”
― Yoko Ono
This is beautiful art by a beautiful artist. I’m just disappointed he doesn’t seem to have posted more of these. I posted below the video some of his other illustrations, though while they’re certainly plenty skillful, they’re also very different from the video in tone and style and subject.
