What if you spent every day looking for One Beautiful Thing?

Mesoamerican

Timo Fahler

Oklahoma-born stained glass artist Timo Fahler uses his Mexican heritage and found objects, mixed with traditional stained glass methods to create something very new. His Mesoamerican references give great power to his pieces, and he infuses them with contemporary critical thinking concepts. His colorful subjects are often shown caged in some way, whether behind a wrought iron gate or reclaimed rebar or chain link or some other kind of prison-like interference.

Fahler lists his main themes as freedom, family, fertility, and the history of land and labor. His pieces often occupy 3-dimensions. Even his flat panel works are displayed on hooks constructed of found steel elements and are suspended away from the wall, giving their colorful shadows room to shine. His work appears in many important collections including The Morgan Stanley Collection, The Bunker Art Space, and LACMA.

You can see all of Timo Fahler’s wonderful work on his website and on Instagram.
