What if you spent every day looking for One Beautiful Thing?

Primal Space

I discovered today’s wicked cool website thanks to the Tacky Raccoon blog. Go check them out!

This is the UK-based Primal Space, a hugely-popular YouTube channel (and website) which was started as a fun diversion by Ewan Cunningham. The channel and their website explore through original animation wild and wildly-interesting stories about engineering, science, and history. I first watched a mini-doc about the self-balancing monorail invented at the turn of the 20th Century. The innovations involved in inventor Louis Brennan’s complicated but reliable train had me absolutely transfixed. Once that was done, I needed more. Down a lovely, smart, endlessly-interesting rabbit hole I went! These videos mostly come in under 10 minutes in length, but the quantity of fascinating, relevant facts and the logical progression of their storytelling means they are 10 minutes well spent.

You can learn more on the Primal Nebula website and on the Primal Space YouTube channel.
