Instagram has been really fun for me lately. I’ve been getting my (bad) news elsewhere, so my feed is much more joy and humor filled than it was previously. Thanks to my happier feed algorithm, I’ve discovered the lovely Linda Ye, a food influencer best known for short cooking videos, which are all set to lovely music.
Linda Ye typically works with eggs, and she has a wonderful knack for making beautiful, hypnotic fancy food preparation videos. While I may not be attempting any of her magical-looking creations, I find her cooking videos to be very soothing. They certainly make me feel better than the political rants I was getting before! Unfortunately, most of Ye’s videos are posted on Instagram, and those embeds still aren’t working right in WordPress, so you’ll need to visit her Insta to see more. (Don’t miss her deviled egg macaron video!)
You can (and should) follow the very talented Linda Ye on TikTok and Instagram.
I am clearly not attempting this one…

Her patience with the strawberries and dice…! But the rice ball chicks in their little egg nests are adorable!

It’s all very cute, though I’m not sure I’d want to eat most of it.

Who knew you could have so much creative fun with a humble egg?! You weren’t kidding about them being soothing to watch. They are mesmerizing and satisfying. I am going to give that account a follow too because – like you – Instagram is my portal to lazy escapism.

Lazy escapism is the perfect description for the vibe I’m trying to maintain. I’m so much calmer now that I get my shouty news elsewhere.
