Today, we’re looking at the gorgeous, painterly cakes by the Bangkok, Thailand-based baker Tanaporn “Kwun” Vilailaks who works under the name Butter & Blossoms. The baker uses palette knife impasto paint techniques to create beautiful, 3D florals and other decorations on her cakes. And the generous Kwun is also a teacher, instructing both live and online classes in the art of buttercream painting.
I wasn’t able to find out anything much about the artist, so we’ll just have to make due with enjoying her work!
You can follow Butter & Blossoms on their website and on YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook.

Can’t you just picture everyone seated with one of these cakes in front of them. Who is going to make that first cut? Oh my gosh–I could not.

I was once given a perfect, perfectly-decorated cake for a birthday. It was too lovely to cut into, so we sliced off the top and ate the rest. (I eventually ate the top, too, even though the frosting-to-cake ratio was way off…
