My OBT

What if you spent every day looking for One Beautiful Thing?

Image  I am sitting at the desk in my office at 9:30 on a Friday night, surrounded by the clumps of hair I pulled out all week (not really), crumpled tissues (It’s spooky how many tissues I go through in a day), and the takeout container with my half-eaten burrito bowl which is stinking up the joint (can’t the cleaners come collect the garbage already?),  This week was particularly brutal, and I’m feeling spent as I wait for the taxi desk to call with that miracle of modern corporate convenience, a car number. I’m an inert lump of clock-watching misery. And then I think oh, crap. One beautiful thing. ONE GODDAMNED BEAUTIFUL THING!!! And I realize I am actually cheered by the thought.

I am trying to keep this blog happy and lovely, but sometimes the most beautiful thing in my day (other than the people I love, of course) (and glitter) is the thing that makes me laugh the hardest. Today’s OBT is one of those. Behold the best squirrel feeder ever invented.

Car’s here! ‘Night, all!

  2. The feeder made me laugh out loud. Thanks for that! The one beautiful thing is all the more beautiful when it’s funny too. Have a great weekend!

  5. HA! I need to find a feeder just like that. My kids would love it if there was a unicorn one.
