“Completely explainable stock photos everybody should always use.” – Awkward Stock Photos
I take a terrible picture, so I have total sympathy for the subjects of bad photos. However, these people have no excuse. These are stock photos styled so bizarrely, so distressingly, so hilariously wrong that there was no good reason for them to exist. Until along came AwkwardStockPhotos.com, the Etsomnia of the stock photo world.
I’d love to be a fly on the wall for the taking of some of these unforgettable images. Don’t you wish they’d gone back and interviewed the subjects about what they thought of what they were being asked to do and how the photographers prevailed upon them to do it?
There are some real howlers here. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.

This weirdly reminds me of Eric Stoltz’s character in Mask. Property of Corbis Images

No hedgehogs were harmed in the making of this completely bizarre and unusable photo. Property of ThinkStock

I feel like I could write an entire book of short stories inspired by these terrible photos.

I do not want to know the people who decided to take these pictures.

What the flipping heck is going on in each of these images? I feel like these should be the starting prompt for a whole bunch of creative writing exercises.
