Ida Ekman
Finland-born London makeup artist Ida Ekman has a unique and creative way of imagining and executing makeup. She uses her models’ faces as her canvas, creating abstract paintings on their skin. The effect is bold and strong and gorgeous (if not terribly flattering). I am fascinated by the beautiful closeups of the eyes and lips, but at first, when the camera zoomed out, I found the overall effect somewhat jarring. I think I just needed to adjust my idea of beauty. I am satisfied to report that I have come around, and I’m looking forward to an opportunity to try my hand at this makeup style as well!

Isn’t it? I want to try, but I can’t think of an occasion for which it would be doable.

A night out with friends 😉
Or a visit to modern art gallery… or to a student exhibition in art academy, they always have those, and noone would find your artsy makeup shocking or problematic, au contraire, it could even be a conversation starter. So have fun with it 😀
