Queen Elizabeth the First, shortly after being fixed

5/16/15: Like Elizabeth I, these dogs have had a recent trip to the vet, requiring them to wear the dreaded collar, also known as the cone of shame. And like most of the English monarchs, the dogs are not amused.

Connecticut animal photographer Ty Foster has published a very entertaining series of photos called “Timeout,” illustrating dogs’ abject and adorable humiliation when placed in the dreaded collar. His subjects may not appreciate the joke, but the pictures are absolutely hilarious.

And if you have the time, his animal portraits are spectacular, and his website and Instagram are both really worth exploring.
