Fashion designer Ji Won Choi credits her childhood as a Korean immigrant living in Oklahoma with her blend of Asian and Western sensibilities. She received her formal fashion education in New York City, Paris, and Milan. The merging of cultures has long been a part of her life, and her care for the world around her has influenced her work further. Her pieces are all made in Italy from sustainable materials.
Choi’s work is featured in the permanent collection of the V&A museum, and she’s had sold-out collaborations with major labels including Adidas. Choi’s clothes are favored by famous fashionistas like Beyoncé and the Kardashians, so it’s no surprise she was featured in Forbes Magazine’s 30 Under 30 list.
You can see all of Ji Won Choi’s beautiful fashions on her website and on Instagram and YouTube.

I like the bold use of line in these pieces and the way the garments are structured from panels. It strikes me that these pieces are really wearable, which is not often the case with elevated fashion – I know that’s not the right term but my brain has logged off.

You’re absolutely right! Haute couture is typically more of an art form than a way of covering yourself on a daily basis. Plus, the cat would love all those hanging things!
