What if you spent every day looking for One Beautiful Thing?

A Nightingale Sings

Laura Anglade

In honor of my musical daughter’s birthday week, here is some delicious singing from France-born singer Laura Anglade. This excessively-talented young artist grew up with the same musical influences that surrounded me as a child. However, while she managed to make a career out of it, I’m strictly a shower singer, a reality that saddens me daily. Anglade’s parents’ record collection was packed with goodies by Ella Fitzgerald, Carmen McRae, Sarah Vaughan, and another of my faves, Anita O’Day. These early influences worked on Anglade and shaped her somewhat unusual sensibilities. It has been said that her singing style is closer to Julie London and Cyrille Aimée than to Ella and Anita, but her beautiful voice and deep understanding of this vintage music makes for a gorgeous listen.

You can follow Laura Anglade on her website and on YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.

I love the standards and Ms Anglade does a wonderful job with them! She is certainly excessively-talented!
