It has often been said that if you have to explain a joke, it isn’t funny. This joke doesn’t need explaining. It’s just that it’s so awesome, some of us feel the need to understand fully the origins of its awesomeness. When my daughters first showed it to me, I literally fell off my chair. I am not misusing the word ‘literally.’ One minute, I’m in the chair, the next, I’m flopping around on the floor, wheezing and weeping.

If you’d rather not learn the “intellectual underpinnings” of why this is the funniest video on the internet, you can just skip straight to the hilarity, but without the buildup, I’m not sure it’s as magnificent.

While I was unable to locate the origin of the cat video, I can point you toward the awesome Paul & Storm.  And yes, that is George RR Martin and Neil Gaiman on stage with them.
