The supermoon can make you do silly things. On March 19, 2011, accompanied by bestie Dawn, we walked out to East 12th Road (which was mostly wiped out by the hurricane in 2012) with our good camera and attempted to take pictures with the supermoon. We were mostly unsuccessful. (See left.) Nonetheless, we had fun trying. (Wine may have been involved.)
Photographer Laurent Lavender has been fooling around with the moon for years, with much more successful results. His imaginative use of the heavenly body clearly shows his sense of playfulness and his imagination. His pictures make me want to try again.
So in honor of tonight’s supermoon (and inevitable accompanying flood), I give you the very talented Laurent’s love affair with the moon, followed by a little night music.

Those photos are awesome…. Now I feel bad because I missed the super moon. I am still going outside after I finish typing to see the day after the super moon.
On another topic Warren Zevon…. awesome.
