Extreme Seating

Brazilian design brothers Fernando and Humberto Campana clearly don’t lack a sense of humor. Their line of chairs, while maybe not the most comfortable seating I’ve ever seen, are certainly fun to look at. I wouldn’t recommend them if you have a toddler, though. Our Riley would be furious if she couldn’t take the stuffed animals apart and play with them.

The chairs are released in very limited editions of 25-35 per design, made specifically for MossOnline.com, which website infuriatingly won’t let me in without credentials. According to ApartmentTherapy.com, the Campana chairs are part of Moss.com’s “Extreme Seating” section. I have never needed to get into a website so badly in my entire life. I am fantasizing that if I can just get into this website, I’ll discover the mother lode of OBT fodder, so fingers crossed they let me in!

In the meantime, we’ll just have to amuse ourselves with the very fun chairs from the Brothers Campana. It occurs to me I could try making my own using random stuffed animals and a papasan chair. I feel a Pinterest fail coming on!

By the way, while poking around their website, I realized they are also responsible for a line of furniture and bedding called the “Sushi Collection” which I’ve seen and admired before. Check it out. It’s beautiful!

Some of those are just plain creepy (the dolls one in particular icks me out) but I also feel a burning Pinterest fail itch coming on!

Funny, I loved the first few then I came to the black vinyl teddy bears. I also found the alligators uninviting. (There are alligators in some Texas lakes and rivers and they are scary.) The dolls didn’t bother me as much.

Our basement is the designated “Boy Cave”. I like to shut the door in the evening and pretend that the mess is not down there in the subterranean depths. In particular, the constant “catastrophe of cuddies” drives me nuts. My youngest two are addicted to cuddly toys and equally addicted to just leaving them all over the place. Therefore, when I saw these chairs, they just made me feel aggravated, the same emotional reaction I have to having to tidy up the cuddly pile again. So that’s a big NO from me.
