Eryn Allen Kane

Cold weather always makes me feel like Nat King Cole, and up-and-comer Eryn Allen Kane’s cover of “These Foolish Things” is just the thing.

A Prince discovery, she appeared on his single “Baltimore.” She’s also collaborated with Chance the Rapper and a few others, but I like her treatment of the standards best of all.

So curl up and give the girl a listen. And will somebody please get me a hot chocolate?

  4. Donna…I bought a CD by John Tesh, called Winter Songs, when our kiddos were in elementary school. Every day after school, and after the snack time, I would put the CD on and the kids would sit at the dining room table and do their homework. It was sorta like Pavlov’s dogs…the music came on and they immediately settled in and did their work. I love the CD and still play it when I am studying, writing, baking, etc. I started playing it today (after Danielle and I listened to the new Adele CD) and Danielle, who is now 25, came in and said, “Homework Music!”. Still funny to me.
