What if you spent every day looking for One Beautiful Thing?

White Space: the Final Frontier

The cheerful, charming photos by Sydney-based graphic designer and photographer Peechaya Burroughs have been referred to as minimalist composition. I imagine that’s as good a term as any, thought it doesn’t really convey the simple joyousness of her photos. She takes balloons (other objects, and herself) and imagines them in all kinds of new and lovely ways, and her resulting photos are like a visual palate cleanser. One of features that make her photos feel so refreshing is her sometimes extravagant use of white space.  Her ratio of nothingness-to-somethingness is really exceptional, and makes her whimsical photos a real treat to behold.

The artist’s goal is to inject a “little touch of everyday optimism” into her photos. I would say she’s been wildly successful at attaining her goal. Hope they make you as instantly happy as they made me!

As I mentioned on Friday, Etsomnia™ will be on vacation this week, but it’ll be back next week, tanned and rested!

All photos are the property of Peechaya Burroughs.
