Sia would love this! Of course, she has an assistant to keep her from crashing into things…
Et·som·ni·a (/etˈsämnēə/), noun, 1. a sleep disorder caused by obsessive Etsy browsing. 2. The surprising arrival of weird handmade merchandise ordered when one is only half conscious. (True story.) 3. An excuse for me to be an obnoxious, snarky New Yorker once per week.
Happy Thanksgiving! (And to the rest of the world, Happy Thursday.)
This week, we’re taking a look at wigs on Etsy. I have always loved wigs, and I wear them whenever I can. Although it’s great fun to have dramatically-colored or –styled hair, wearing a wig is a lot easier on your hair than bleaching and dyeing and gluing and torturing it is. Of course, as wonderful as wigs can be, it’s also really easy for them to go horribly, hilariously wrong, but I still found a lot to be grateful for this week! (Warning: the really good ones tend to cost a small fortune, but they’re totally worth it!)

Let’s start with a great one! Gorgeous grey-into-lavender ombre by WantableWigs

Do you think she knows those birds are in there?

Lady Gaga wore one like it. Sure. But if Lady Gaga jumped off a bridge would you jump, too? Hello? Hey, where’d you go? (Distant splash)

The perfect Patsy Stone by my favorite wig maker of all time, GypsyWigz

I wonder if this is rechargable?

Remember when wrapped gifts were all covered in this mess? Gift wrapping has moved on, but I guess all that ribbon needed to go somewhere.

I’ll just bet she owns one of these…

While I needed you to see the closeup, don’t miss the adorable lunacy of the full photo. I can’t help it. I love this girl!

Oh, I am all over this! I love the style and the color would be so flattering! By ParamountWigs

Rave wig by Mop-N-Glo. (Not really, but wouldn’t that be funny?)

A little something rom the Whoville Holiday Collection

This listing is for “scene” hair. Crime scene, maybe.

The felters are now making wigs, and they’re everything I could have hoped for!

Yasss, queen! By TressMatch

Ma’am, just put the hairspray down. Good, now step away from the hairspray, hands where I can see them…

Um, no.

That crocheted wig at the end made me actually choke with laughter.

Isn’t it so funny? On the other hand, when I saw this, I nearly swooned: https://img0.etsystatic.com/054/1/6398467/il_570xN.681424722_tius.jpg
She’s maybe a little nutty, but still very talented!

Now that one is clever. I could see that one as the basis of a fun cosplay. I think the one in your post was just so flat it made me think of an old fashioned swimming cap.

Never been a fan of the wig – my mother had a “wiglet” in the 70s. But, you know, as I was looking at those spectacularly wacky ones, I realized I am wishing I could live in their worlds….. Is that wrong?

Definitely not wrong. You just need to find some better costume opportunities!
