Cate Parr
When I think of watercolor paintings, I don’t typically think of fashion illustration, but England-born California resident Cate Parr has perfected the art. While her pieces aren’t really intended to show fine details of the fashions depicted, Parr’s gorgeous paintings give you a strong-if-broad impression of those fashions instead. I find their selective details intriguing and super stylish.
Her clients include WWD, Adidas, Dr.Scholl, AOL, Avon, The Central Park Hotel in New York, The St. Regis Hotel in Dubai, and many, many others. Parr’s original paintings can be purchased on SaatchiArt, and prints are available (where else?) on Etsy.

I have just taken up watercolor after a very, very long hiatus. Boy, is it so not easy! These are exceptional. So pretty.

That’s so cool! I always wanted to try, but I know nothing about how to work with watercolor. Maybe someday…

I love the loose brush work and all that colour where it blooms and merges.
