Hanukkah begins tomorrow, so today I’m thrilled to bring to you the menorahs and other Judaica-related sculptures by Israeli artist Shraga Landesman. After spending some time travelling around Europe and exploring western art forms, Landesman returned to Israel to attend Haifa University, studying painting and sculpture. It was there that he began his love affair with small-scale sculptures. His functional Judaica is inspired both by the Bible and by the ancient cultures from the region.
I love the blending of modern materials and elements of nature with traditional Jewish objects. Landesman’s beautiful functional artwork can be purchased from a number of websites including Etsy, Judaica Web Store, and his own website.
I wish everyone a chag Chanukah sameach!

Isn’t it amazing? We’ve been talking about getting one for years, but this time, I may actually finally buy a menorah.

Those are great. I love the bold use of shape and line, as you would expect. I especially like the pieces incorporating birds and the silhouette forms of Adam and Eve.

I’m in love with the one in the first picture. Keep going back to look at it some more. So appealing!

Have a wonderful holiday , Donna. If I bought all the fabulousness you post every single day, I would be so broke! But it sure is fun looking at your glorious finds!

These are incredible. I grew up with my mother’s many old brass menorahs. If she were still here I would be adding one of these to her collection. Perhaps I shall add them to my own in her honour!
