Dina Goldstein

1/14/17: When I saw the photography of Dina Goldstein, it felt like the answer to a question I’ve been asking my whole life. As a child, even as a small child, when my mother would read me fairy tales, I was never satisfied with the endings. I always wanted to know what happened next. We spent a lot of time imagining sequels, to Mom’s great amusement. And as I got older (and more critical), I started to suspect that if the stories kept going, the happy endings would have been much more complicated and less sunshiny than the happily-ever-afters the stories suggested. Goldstein seems to have reached the same conclusions, though her visions are even darker than mine were.

You can learn more about Dina Goldstein on her website and on Instagram, and her snarky/awesome works can be purchased on Saatchi Art as prints or, fascinatingly, as transparencies mounted on LED lightboxes.

All images property of Dina Goldstein.
