What if you spent every day looking for One Beautiful Thing?

The Arcane Moth

Under the name The Arcane Moth, multi-media artist Madi creates the most adorable wee things using foraged materials, clay, and paint. They look like tiny glimpses into a fairy realm, and she’s got a particular love for mushrooms. Her work makes me wish I were very, very small.

Every little detail of her darling scenes is perfect, and her textures are not to be believed. I watched a video on Instagram of her carving a snail, and even though I watched it happen, by the end I could have sworn the little creature was real.

You can see all of The Arcane Moth’s wee wonders on their website and on YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook. You can also buy her work in her Etsy shop.

I share your love of finicky wee things and always marvel at the skills of those who can create things at this scale.โ€‚I think the textures of these pieces are very well done – the fungi look like fungi for example – and I am charmed by the little cabinets of curiosity.
