Today, doctors are removing my knee and replacing it with a shiny new titanium one. GULP.
Rather than spend time thinking about how nightmarish and science fictiony that sounds, I’ve instead decided to focus on a few things I can’t currently do that I am hoping I can once again manage when the stupid thing heals. I’m giving myself a week of reposts to start my recovery. Here goes nothing…

And just because I want to be able to do this, doesn’t mean I am actually going to do it. For one thing, I look terrible in a cardigan.

I have fused discs in my neck with titanium and sail through airport security with nary a blip on the screen. Good luck!

Oh, yes. MRI, CT, Pet scans, airports….I sail through everything. Titanium is really great. We set off nothing! How are you doing?

I’m okay. Not as far along as I’d hoped, but right in line with what the PTs expect, so clearly my wild optimism is at fault.

Thanks! It’s been a tough couple of weeks, but I’m starting to feel like it’s improving. Not sure I’ll ever be able to convince myself to do another joint replacement, but who knows. Women are programmed to forget pain.

Binge-watching all the old seasons of Below Deck and trying not to over-indulge in the sweets people keep sending me are most of my day. And napping, of course. The cat thoroughly approves.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery. And I know two people who have fallen off a ladder and suffered severe injuries so I watched all 14 minutes of that video!
