British contemporary realist painter Aldo Balding is the magnificent subject of today’s post, and I cannot get enough of his wonderful works. His pieces give us glimpses into everyday moments across Europe, and they’re making me long to travel again. One of the reviews I read said, “His subtle use of space distortion creates a sense that something is amiss or is about to happen.” That perfectly sums up his work.
You can see all of Aldo Balding’s wonderful work on his website and on Instagram and Facebook.

Absolutely true! And it doesn’t hurt that his subjects are often someplace with a definite European feel.

My favorite is the one of the waiter(s) unfurling the tablecloth. Something about that painting…but these are all pretty wonderful.

Isn’t that one marvelous? Definitely a standout for me, too.
