While (desperately) casting about for pleasant things to distract me, I stumbled upon a phenomenon called Keeping Up With the Kattarshians. It was a 24/7 live feed of kittens faffing around a miniature house. I am deeply saddened to say it was discontinued in 2018 when the rescue closed its doors. Not to worry! The internet came to MY rescue with a pretty good replacement. Sure, this one doesn’t have the hysterical set design that the Kattarshians did, but I’ll take what I can get.
This is the Kitten Academy’s live stream, and if there’s nothing going on, you can drag the stream backward up to 12 hours to see some kitteh action. The channel features both current foster cats and those “foster failures” that will live at the Academy forever.
“Here at Kitten Academy, we have a no-sads policy which arose from the fact that we cannot stomach hearing about cats and kittens in distress, even if we know that the story ends well. Therefore, we never want to tell those sorts of stories. Even if our kittens come from a bad beginning, the story we want to focus on is the wonderful time they have at the Kitten Academy and thereafter. This policy is something we strictly abide by for the sake of our own sanity. We appreciate that a lot of supporters of Kitten Academy are like-minded in this aspect and that they sometimes come here for a respite from the remainder of the Internet.”
You can learn more about the Kitten Academy on their website and on Facebook.

I just showed this to my cat-daft 15 year old and I suspect he will tune in from time to time when he needs an extra boost of fluff-based serotonin.

So cute! Just makes me want a kitten, though, which is dangerous.
