High school art teacher Robert Abele III has a unique talent. He brings life to scenery like old houses and boats and fields and makes them sing. Although he now lives on picturesque Cape Cod, one of my favorite places in the world, I’ve seen some of his reference photos, and they’re nowhere near as magical as his paintings make these locations seem. His paintings bring such life to his subjects, the paintings bring to mind the work of Edward Hopper. And I’m not the only one he’s impressing.
