What if you spent every day looking for One Beautiful Thing?

The Rejects

Chad LIttle

Arizona native Chad Little creates art that feels vintage but with a modern twist. His portraits are always a little awkward and a little off, but in a very good way. His colors give you the impression of old snaps, but there’s also something intimate about them. His poses aren’t quite candid, but my impression was that they’re paintings done from the rejected photos in a series. After a bit of hunting around the internet, I realized that’s exactly what they are!

Little hits yard sales and vintage/thrift shops, hunting for images that have some unintentional humor to them. Of course, this makes them extra interesting to me.

You can follow Chad Little on his website and on Instagram and Facebook.

Have you seen that old photo of Sophia Loren casting a glance at Jayne Mansfield’s chest? The look on her face! That is what I thought of when I saw that first picture. These are fun.

Oh these are fantastic! I, of course, immediately fell for the mid-mod vibes and colour palette but I am compelled and charmed by the personality and narrative possibilities of each piece. Really great stuff. I would give any of them wall space in my home. They remind me a bit of the photographs of Martin Parr.
