Today, we are looking at beautiful dancer/choreographer Ricky Ubeda, and I honestly can’t get enough of his work. I first came across his gorgeous dance film It’s Not That Serious, and then had to work my way backwards. Though he had been involved in many local and national dance competitions in his teens, Ubeda really burst onto the dance scene when he took the big prize during Season 11 of So You Think You Can Dance (SYTYCD). After winning the show in 2014 at the age of 19, he joined the cast of the Broadway revival of On the Town, and was then cast as Mister Mistoffelees in the 2016 Broadway revival of Cats. Ubeda went on to dance in the 2021 film version of West Side Story, Maestro, and the iconic series Fosse/Verdon.

Ubeda’s choreography is truly unexpected. I love the way he and his dancers throw themselves around the stage, and his extensions are just remarkable.

You can follow the ridiculously-talented Ricky Ubeda on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook.
