What if you spent every day looking for One Beautiful Thing?

A Big Purrsonality

Today, we’re visiting with Rexie, the most expressive cat in the world. Like me, Rexie has no inside voice. His face always shows just what he’s thinking (and apparently he has big feelings about nearly everything!). His person, Dasha, rescued the handicapped nugget in 2014, and he’s turned into an internet star, bringing joy and laughter to millions. Though he’s got a face that could launch a million ships, the fuzzy darling also has chronic kidney disease and his back legs are paralyzed from a back injury when he was a kitten. But what he lacks in athletic ability, he more than makes up for in personality!

Dasha has been using Rexie’s social media attention to promote the joys of adopting a special-needs pet.

“The truth is healthy handicapped cats don’t differ from any other cat at all, and are very easy to take care of once you know the ropes. Yes they do require some extra care on a daily basis but it doesn’t take up more than 20 minutes a day.”

That might be a slight understatement. According to Dasha, Rexie can’t empty his bladder or move his bowels himself, so she can’t be away from him for more than 8 hours at a time. No vacations for her, but she’s not complaining. I hope there is some special karmic reward for someone so willing to put themselves out for an animal. Blessings on them both!

You can follow the adorable Rexie on Instagram.
